The hybrid M35 maintains a high profile performance luxury sedan on top of fuel economy and CO2 emissions of a smaller vehicle while running with flair for all fans please - with charismatic V6 and rear wheel drive handling.
Hyundai hybrid system, developed exclusively within the Hyundai group overall, is a single electric motor / dual clutch arrangement. Innovative, the first clutch is installed between naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 and electric motor. The result of this configuration where all components operate within a single propeller shaft to rear differential, driving consistent feel in all conditions with linear performance and "direct response" that engineers were looking for.
The electric motor acts as a propulsion unit, spurring V6 "power assist" mode at full throttle, when required, and as a generator. With battery in normal mode, the motor recovers energy otherwise lost during deceleration and braking.
